Wirral West Labour Party select prospective parliamentary candidate
Tonight (Wednesday) Wirral West selected Phil Davies to be Labour's PPC. The count took place in the Wirral this evening.
Phil said:
"It's a great privilege to have been selected by the members of Wirral West and to have been given this chance.
"I'm proud of the Labour Party's achievements and will continue to build on Stephen Hesford's hard work.
"Wirral people need a Labour MP standing up and fighting for them in Westminster and that's what I'm determined to do.
"The Government has set clear choices for the future that protect the investment that has been made in the Wirral's schools, the NHS and the police. I will stand up and fight for a future fair for all in Wirral West."
Wirral West CLP chair Barbara Moores said:
"I would like to thank all the candidates for the way they have conducted themselves during the selection process.
" Since 1997 we have seen the enormous difference that Labour has made to people's lives through improvements to the NHS, the minimum wage and investment in schools.
"I know that in Phil we have the best candidate to maintain Labour's strong fight in Wirral West campaigning for support for jobs, public services and businesses."
